This started out as a research and development project.

At this time I had been working as a photographer's assistant and photographer for about 10 years; mostly in the fashion, beauty and advertising industries. In my fashion editorial work, as a photographer, I had already experimented with photogrammetry (a kind of 3D scanning).

3D scanning is an incredible tool, but I wanted to make and simulate clothes in virtual space for greater creative freedom; so I started experimenting with more 3D tools. I had technical success and was getting bored quickly. The development of a concept helped to keep myself interested as I learnt.

At the time I was wrestling with what was important for me and where I needed to change direction. The project grew and eventually it became about transformation and diving into the unknown.
